Above: A lot of chatter going on amongst Tree Swallows during mating seasons. And a lot of
showing off, and “get off my favorite perch” and so on and so forth... Hard to say if that kind
of behavior is aggressive or just friendly interplay. Probably a bit of both...
The below image gives us an almost ideal nesting environment for Tree Swallows; dead
trees in shallow water, fertile breeding milieu for all kinds of insects. We’re close to
Ellis Bay in Missouri. Background left, the columns of the Clark Bridge which connects
over to Alton, IL, are faintly visible.
