The fairly common
Black-crowned Night Herons were photographed roosting in trees along the Bronx River in NY. Wherever they appear, they install fear
and loathing in other,
particularly nesting birds...
The picture of theYellow-crowned Night Heron
bottom right was taken
at the edge of a Florida
inlet. That one seemed to content itself picking large Cricket-like insects from
the sand.
